I have been working in London schools for over 20 years in Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth, East Sussex and now Richmond.  I was appointed assistant headteacher in 2007 and have been working in senior leadership for over a decade. I was appointed as headteacher of Teddington School in January 2018 with the remit to rapidly improve its performance.

This was a significant challenge to a brand new Headteacher: to improve student progress and outcomes while stabilising the school’s financial position.  To help achieve this, Teddington School received support from the Bourne Education Trust. With the knowledge, guidance and expertise that it provided me the school’s finances were rapidly returned to a position of strength and we delivered some fantastic GCSE results. This has given us a platform to go from strength to strength. This was achieved through a fundamental belief in the BET’s moral purpose; that no child slips through the net, and that we bring our individual approach to every aspect of a child’s journey through the school and beyond. I would not have been able to lead Teddington School to a stronger place, ably serving its local community, had it not been for the consistent support I received as part of BET.
