I graduated as a teacher 13 years ago and have spent most of my professional career with the Bourne Education Trust. What resonates the most with me is the relentless drive towards improvement that the Bourne Education Trust strives to achieve.

I joined Epsom and Ewell High School in 2007 when the school found themselves in special measures and by 2010 the school was deemed to be a 'Good' school.

During this time I was appointed as Head of Geography and witnessing the impact that outstanding and inclusive teaching could have on a child’s life, played a big part in my decision to further take on the role of SENCO in 2012. This transitioned into overseeing Inclusion as Assistant Headteacher in 2013.

The Bourne Education Trust strongly believes in taking advantage of the time students are in school in order to equip them with the skills and opportunities they will require to ensure they are ready to make a valued contribution to society. These skills needs to be instilled from a young age and I therefore jumped at the opportunity to support Pyrcroft Grange as Headteacher from October 2013 for a period of three years.

Whilst working in partnership with the Trust, local community and our strategic partner Salesian School, I have relished the opportunity to be part of a team that set up a new free school in Chertsey. The Trust gave me the opportunity to establish a school where we encourage children to develop a strong set of values for life, the knowledge to make the right choices in life and the courage to never settle for second best.

In January 2023 I joined the Matthew Arnold School, part of our Richmond cluster of schools.
