Return to school - March 8th 2021

12th Mar 2021

We are delighted that pupils returned to school from Monday 8th March 2021. All our secondary pupils have been offered lateral flow tests and the take up has been extremely high.

We have seen pupils slip back to the routine of school very easily and it has been so good to see. They are clearly relieved to be back. We have been planning assiduously for their return. Despite the heroic efforts of families and staff there will, inevitably, be gaps in pupils knowledge and skills. During the next 3 weeks our focus will be to:

  • Settle all pupils back into school, establish good learning routines, concentrate on pupil well-being, and ensure we provide a broad and balanced curriculum so pupils can enjoy socialising, the arts and sport amongst other subjects
  • Consider what needs to be done to address the educational gaps and well-being needs of pupils and staff.

The summer term and beyond will see intensive efforts to close these gaps and all our schools will have COVID recovery curricula in place to support all the pupils.
