Bourne Education Trust
Our school is proud to be part of Bourne Education Trust - a multi-academy trust made up of primary, secondary, specialist and alternative provision academies, along with associate schools across Hampshire, London and Surrey. Established in 2011, BET is driven by a clear purpose - transforming schools; changing lives. The Trust believes that every child deserves a great education, and its breadth across the sector reflects this commitment.
As the world changes rapidly, particularly with the growth of AI and digital technologies, BET recognises the responsibility to prepare pupils for the workplaces and opportunities of the 2030s. This means developing strong academic foundations alongside digital fluency, ethical awareness, creativity and adaptability. These priorities influence curriculum thinking, professional development and long-term planning across all BET schools.
To make the most of collective expertise, schools within the Trust work in phases and clusters that support both specialist practice and cross-phase collaboration. BET’s settings are diverse - from small primary schools to large secondary schools with sixth forms - yet each plays an equal role in shaping the direction of the Trust.
Led by Chief Executive Officer Alex Russell, Deputy CEO Penny Alford and a team of Directors, BET has a strong track record in strengthening school performance, improving the quality of education, developing leadership and ensuring financial sustainability. The Trust’s core belief is that schools should serve their communities well while benefiting from the shared strength and purpose of a larger organisation.
While each BET school retains its individual identity, all share a culture that is welcoming, professional and ambitious. Pupils feel safe, supported and known, benefiting from teaching that promotes curiosity, confidence and clear thinking.

BET Futures brings together teachers, leaders and support staff from primary, secondary and SEND settings to explore the key issues shaping education today and to make recommendations for change across the Trust.
Each year, three dedicated teams visit schools within and beyond the Trust, review existing research, and collaborate on ideas that lead to well-informed proposals for future improvement.
