Our digital strategy represents an alignment of pedagogical objectives, business needs, and digital infrastructure. We aim to transform our schools through digital empowerment, enabling innovative teaching approaches that meet the diverse needs of all our learners. Our focus is on providing robust infrastructure, scalable solutions, and ethical adoption of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), to foster creativity, collaboration, and responsible digital citizenship.

Our digital strategy is built on four key drivers:

  • Edtech, pedagogy, and innovation: We will invest in the best technology to transform the learning process in and beyond the classroom, creating inspirational learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners at every stage in their schooling, ensuring equitable access for all.

  • Technology and infrastructure: We will invest in the most robust infrastructure to ensure all members of the BET community have access to high-quality, reliable, secure and sustainable systems that improve the experience of learners and business users.

  • Data and insights: High-quality data is collected, analysed and shared to allow informed decisions to be made around the progress of each learner. Business processes are enhanced and made more efficient through timely use of accurate data.

  • Privacy and cybersecurity: BET will ensure data systems remain, at all times, highly secure and accessible only to those needing access. Learners and staff will receive regular, relevant training to ensure their personal and institutional data is kept safe and learners will be comprehensively prepared for a world where digital footprints can last a lifetime.

Our digital strategy integrates future workplace skills, as identified by the World Economic Forum, ensuring our learners are well-prepared for a rapidly evolving digital society.

Funding and sustainability

Our commitment to digital transformation is supported by robust funding plans and a focus on sustainability. Each school has an IT development plan integrated into their budget, and we leverage central procurement to ensure best value for money. We also prioritise sustainable practices, such as cloud migration and responsible device management, to minimise our environmental impact.
