Woodmansterne Primary recognised nationally for closing the gap
We are delighted to congratulate Woodmansterne Primary School on national recognition for the exceptional outcomes achieved by its disadvantaged pupils.
The school’s outcomes place it among the very best schools nationally. In 2024/25, 100% of disadvantaged pupils achieved expected or greater depth in writing, maths, and spelling, punctuation and grammar, reflecting the school’s success in closing gaps and ensuring consistently high standards for all learners. This outstanding performance has been formally recognised by the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson, highlighting the strength and impact of Woodmansterne’s work.
Anyone who has visited Woodmansterne Primary School will know it is a truly special place: ambitious for every child, thoughtful about its learning experiences - including strong reading initiatives and rich outdoor learning opportunities - and relentless in its focus on ensuring every pupil succeeds. The school is never complacent, always asking what more can be done to further improve outcomes and experiences for its community.
This national recognition is a testament to the commitment, professionalism and high expectations of the entire school community.
Congratulations to everyone at Woodmansterne Primary School on this outstanding achievement.
