Woodfield School to join BET as new associate member
Bourne Education Trust (BET) is pleased to announce that Woodfield School has joined the Trust as an associate member from April 2026. This partnership represents a valuable opportunity for collaboration and shared expertise, further strengthening the Trust’s inclusive provision across Surrey.
Woodfield School, based in Merstham, is a specialist setting for pupils aged 11–19 with moderate learning difficulties identified as their primary need. The school is committed to preparing pupils for adulthood, with a clear focus on developing happy, successful learners who grow in independence.
At the heart of Woodfield’s approach is a safe and supportive learning community where every individual is valued and respected. The school places a strong emphasis on celebrating achievement, fostering a sense of belonging and empowering students to realise their full potential. Its values - including respect, fairness, care and a ‘can do’ attitude - underpin a culture in which young people are encouraged to persevere and develop into confident, independent citizens.
This partnership will enable Woodfield School to collaborate more closely with other schools across the Trust, sharing expertise and strengthening provision for pupils with additional needs, while continuing to build on its established strengths and inclusive ethos.
Alex Russell, BET CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Woodfield School as an associate member. The school’s strong commitment to inclusion, pupil wellbeing and preparation for adulthood aligns closely with our values. We look forward to working together to support the best possible outcomes for all pupils.”
Terri Wyse, Headteacher of Woodfield School, said: “Joining Bourne Education Trust as an associate member is an exciting opportunity for Woodfield. We look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the Trust, sharing practice and continuing to develop our provision for the benefit of our pupils and wider community.”
