Bourne Education Trust launches the Bourne Institute of Leadership and Training

Bourne Education Trust (BET) is proud to launch the Bourne Institute of Leadership and Training (institute), bringing together professional learning and development opportunities for colleagues across the Trust.

The new institute provides a dedicated home for leadership development, training and career progression, ensuring colleagues at every stage of their professional journey have access to high-quality support and opportunities.

The institute has been established to strengthen BET’s commitment to invest in its people, reflecting our belief that by supporting our people, they can continue to thrive professionally. This professional development is a key driver to ensuring school improvement and positive outcomes for our children and young people.

Opportunities available for 2026-27 include a range of apprenticeships, initial teacher training, an ECT programme, TA training, plus involvement in networks. The institute also provides a range of NPQ programmes, delivered in association with the National Institute of Teaching, giving colleagues the opportunity to strengthen leadership practice. 

Colleagues will be able to engage with programmes tailored to their role, experience and aspirations, while also benefiting from opportunities to collaborate and learn from peers across the Trust.

As the Trust's professional development offer continues to grow, the institute will serve as an evolving hub for new programmes, resources and learning opportunities ensuring that colleagues across BET can continue to develop their skills, share best practice and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
